Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture, design, and delivery of cloud platform products enabling AI-powered workloads for engineers and non-engineers alike.

You will drive technical strategy, partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Platform Reliability Engineering, and hands-on code on critical paths. Strong Go/CLOUD-native expertise and a track record in large-scale platforms are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years software engineering with technical leadership (preferred).
• Experience designing, building, and delivering distributed cloud-native systems.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes (GKE) in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of cloud platform products from design through release and operation.
• Break down initiatives into well-scoped work for autonomous execution.
• Identify and remove blockers across teams.
• Build reusable services, libraries, and automation to reduce toil.
• Define and improve CI/CD, IaC/GitOps, testing, and release standards.
• Mentor engineers and model AI-assisted development.
• Contribute hands-on code on critical paths.
• Track delivery health and drive improvements.
• Develop self-service workflows and improve developer experience.
