Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor in Boston, MA is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Cloud Platform team, owning the nRF Cloud platform's reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. You will drive infrastructure decisions and own the team’s output, fostering a healthy culture and direct technical contribution.

You will collaborate with Product, Go-To-Market, Security, and Field Engineering, guiding the roadmap and ensuring the team ships effective solutions for millions of IoT devices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ year in engineering management.
• Hands-on technical leadership while reviewing code and shaping architecture.
• Deep familiarity with AWS services (EKS, RDS, S3, EC2, ECS).
• Relational database experience, especially PostgreSQL, with design and optimization.
• Backend programming in Python, Kotlin, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong Kubernetes experience managing production workloads.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools and improving reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the nRF Cloud platform, scale ingestion from millions of devices daily.
• Own team productivity, manage blockers, and shape workflows.
• Build a healthy team culture with clear feedback and collaboration.
• Contribute technically through architecture design, code reviews, and debugging.
• Define and evolve the cloud platform roadmap with pragmatic experiments.
• Champion observability with meaningful metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, SDK & Field Engineering, GTM, Security.
• Lead hiring across the team from role definition to closures.
• Represent the team across the organization with clear visibility.
