Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Cloud Platform team, combining people leadership with deep technical ownership. The role centers on scaling the nRF Cloud backend, driving reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across millions of IoT device ingests.

You will guide architecture decisions, oversee workflow optimization, and foster a collaborative culture while maintaining hands-on technical involvement in critical areas.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with at least 1 year in engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Own the nRF Cloud platform and scale a system ingesting data from millions of IoT devices daily.
• Own team productivity, balance workload, and improve workflows.
• Build a healthy team culture with clear expectations and timely feedback.
• Contribute technically through architecture design, code reviews, and debugging production issues.
• Define and evolve the cloud platform roadmap with a bias toward action and experimentation.
• Champion observability with meaningful metrics, logs, and alerts; maintain healthy on-call rotations.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, SDK & Field Engineering, Go To Market and Security.
• Hire well and manage the end-to-end hiring process for the team.
• Represent the team across the organization and ensure visibility of work.
