Job summary

Ford is seeking a Cloud Software Engineering Director to lead the development, maintenance, and production support of cloud platform components within the Vehicle, Mobile and Cloud organization. The role focuses on integrating Ford’s Connectivity Platform with partner platforms and guiding a global team through high-visibility initiatives in an always-on connected vehicle environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in software/CS.
• 10+ years in cloud software engineering with leadership.
• 3+ years leading managers and global teams.
• 3+ years delivering cloud apps on Java/Spring Boot in GCP.
• 3+ years shaping technology strategy and roadmaps.
• Executive-level communication skills.
• 25% travel to Europe, Asia/China, & other locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for cloud platform software.
• Own tech strategy to integrate Ford’s connectivity with partner platforms.
• Set priorities for global, always-on platform capabilities.
• Establish performance objectives to improve cost, quality, reliability, security.
• Advance Ford’s Core Connectivity with actionable roadmaps.
• Lead and develop a global team of ~50 engineers.
• Align cross-functional teams to resolve dependencies and risks.
• Translate complex designs into clear decisions for stakeholders.
• Make data-driven decisions across architecture, implementation, and product lifecycle.
• Promote disciplined operations and constructive engineering culture.
