Job summary
Ford Motor Company seeks a visionary leader for Cloud Platform Engineering focusing on data platforms and analytics. Own strategy, architecture, and engineering of Ford's cloud databases and analytics stack on GCP, driving self-service, IaC-driven provisioning and scalable governance.
You will build and lead a global team of platform engineers, architects, and SREs, advancing AI-ready capabilities, cost optimization, and SaaS consolidation while partnering with PDO and product teams for best-fit
Qualifications
- Minimum 15+ years in software engineering, cloud architecture, and data platform services with leadership experience.
- Proven ownership of large-scale database and analytics environments on GCP (Cloud SQL, Spanner, AlloyDB, BigTable, Firestore, BigQuery).
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and automated provisioning across platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define a multi-year strategic platform engineering roadmap for cloud databases and analytics.
- Build and mentor a global team of platform engineers, architects, and SREs; promote DevSecOps and hackathon culture.
- Lead DBaaS strategy, cost-optimization, and consolidation of SaaS database products enterprise-wide.
