Base pay range

$55.00/yr - $63.00/yr

Optomi, in partnership with an innovative enterprise technology organization, is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join a high-performing Platform team. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a strong software development background and a DevOps mindset, passionate about building scalable internal platforms and developer enablement solutions.

As a key contributor, you’ll help evolve and maintain a Developer Enablement Platform (DEP) built on Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure, supporting development teams as they build and ship software efficiently.

Experience of the right candidate:

• 5+ years in software engineering or platform engineering roles with strong development experience
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions (minimal to no Azure DevOps usage)
• Hands-on experience with Istio, service mesh architecture, and sidecar patterns
• Experience with Agile practices and mindset — proactive problem-solving, ownership, and continuous improvement
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to enable self-service platform capabilities
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where critical thinking and technical autonomy are valued

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with ArgoCD for GitOps workflows
• Experience using Terratest in Golang for infrastructure testing
• Previous work on internal developer portals or enablement platforms

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure
• Support and evolve internal CI/CD tooling with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
• Work with engineering teams to onboard and support their services on the platform
• Apply expertise in Istio service mesh, Kubernetes networking, and infrastructure patterns
• Embed with development teams when needed to build long-term, scalable platform solutions
• Proactively identify platform issues, recommend improvements, and influence architectural direction
