Willis Towers Watson (WTW) is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, develop, and operate enterprise Azure infrastructure. You will automate provisioning, enforce governance, and collaborate with DevOps to support CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads.

The role emphasizes security-first mindset, enterprise workloads, and ongoing improvements leveraging Azure services and IaC tools. Hybrid work options are available in Portland, OR area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT or related field.
• Strong background with Microsoft Azure or related Cloud Provider.
• Understanding of Server IaaS management (HA, Monitoring, Backup, DR).
• Knowledge of Windows Server security baselines and configuration management.
• Experience with Terraform in production.
• Understanding of CI/CD tools and concepts (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bicep or Python.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise.
• Familiarity with IAC tools for automating tasks and cloud infra management.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML operational concepts, model lifecycle and cloud infra needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate Azure infrastructure at scale.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using ARM/Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
• Enforce Azure governance: Landing Zones, Policy, RBAC, tagging and compliance.
• Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to support CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads.
• Document processes and maintain infrastructure knowledge base.
• Stay current with cloud updates and industry trends to drive improvements.
• Provide timely support and troubleshooting for cloud-related issues.

We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, develop, and operate enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure platforms supporting global business services. This role is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, automated cloud services through Infrastructure as Code, platform standards, governance controls, and operational excellence practices. The ideal candidate possesses deep Azure expertise, strong automation skills, and experience supporting enterprise workloads with a security-first mindset.

The Role:

• Manage a mature Azure Infrastructure consisting of over 300 Subscriptions
• Design, implement, and manageAzure-based server infrastructure, including Management Groups, virtual machines, networking, and Security solutions.
• Implement and maintain cloud security services including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Managed Identities, vulnerability remediation, and platform hardening
• Automate provisioning, support and configuration usingARM/Bicep templates,Terraform,PowerShell, orAzure CLI.
• Enforce Azure governance standards including Landing Zones, Azure Policy, RBAC, tagging standards, subscription management, and compliance controls
• Optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and availability usingAzure Monitor,Log Analytics, andCost Management.
• Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to supportCI/CD pipelines,containerized workloads, andPaaS and App services.
• Responsible for support ticket resolution and related troubleshooting of issues in a timely manner.
• Documenting processes, procedures, and infrastructure for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with Cloud updates and industry trends to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong background with relevant experience working with Microsoft Azure or related Cloud Provider.
• Strong understanding of Server IaaS management (HA, Monitors, Backup, DR)
• Knowledge of Windows Server Security Baselines and Configuration management.
• Experience with Terraform in a production environment.
• Understanding of CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bicep or Python.
• Experience with the GitHub Enterprise
• Familiarity with other IAC tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) for benefits of automating tasks and managing cloud infrastructure
• Basic understanding of AI/ML operational concepts, model lifecycle management, and associated cloud infrastructure requirements
• Experience with Azure Arc and OSConfig
• Experience with Vulnerability Management.
• Experience working within DevOps and Agile delivery models
• Azure certifications or comparable knowledge (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-305).
