Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced 5 to 8‑year senior Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks on the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate has deep Azure experience along with strong DevOps, automation, and cloud engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, provision, and manage secure and scalable Azure infrastructure (App Services, AKS, Functions, API Management, Storage, Redis, Key Vault, Networking) with best practices for availability, performance, governance, and cost efficiency.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) YAML pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- Automate build, test, and deployment workflows for microservices, APIs, containers, and serverless platforms.
- Integrate quality and security gates (SonarQube, SAST, SCA, automated tests) into the delivery process.
- Incorporate Statsig feature flags into release pipelines to enable progressive rollouts, controlled experiments, and simplified rollback strategies.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Develop and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Pulumi.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and environment creation using reusable IaC modules.
- Enhance automation maturity through scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and policy‑as‑code.
- Deploy and maintain applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Manage container builds, image scanning, Helm charts, and secret management.
- Implement GitOps workflows, service mesh, and cluster governance policies where applicable.
- Configure monitoring and logging through Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Build automated alerting, dashboards, performance insights, and distributed tracing setups.
Release Engineering, Feature Management & Experimentation
- Enable modern release methodologies such as blue/green, canary deployments, and A/B testing.
- Statsig‑driven feature flags, progressive rollouts, experimentation, and safe rollback processes.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define experimentation guardrails and observability for new features.
Security & Compliance
- Implement Azure RBAC, managed identities, network security, Key Vault, and encryption best practices.
- Build secure pipelines with scanning tools and automated compliance checks.
- Ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance standards (SOC2, ISO27001, PCI, etc.).
- Work closely with developers, QA, SRE, and architects to streamline cloud and DevOps workflows.
- Coach junior team members and contribute to team knowledge‑sharing.
- Participate in architectural reviews, DevOps roadmap planning, release planning, and strategic direction setting.
Qualifications
Required
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Azure engineering, or cloud platform roles.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, Boards).
- Extensive experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, compute, and identity.
- Strong scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS deployments.
- Prior exposure to feature flagging systems such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, or similar.
Preferred
- Knowledge of microservices, event‑driven architecture, and messaging systems.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and cross‑team collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead initiatives with minimal guidance.
- Passion for automation, cloud engineering, reliability, and continuous improvement.
