Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in IT operations, infrastructure, or cloud engineering; 3+ years in leadership.
• Proven MSP/vendor relationship management, including contracts and SLAs.
• Hands-on AWS production experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Leadership of DevOps/SRE teams; strong CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Budget ownership, vendor negotiations, and cloud cost optimization experience.
• Strong incident management background and on-call/escalation process improvements.
• Excellent communication for presenting metrics/roadmaps to executives.
• Familiarity with ITIL or similar ITSM frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own MSP relationships, including contract renewals and pricing.
• Define SLAs/KPIs for uptime, support response/resolution, patch cadence, and security.
• Lead regular business/technical reviews with MSP; resolve performance issues.
• Decide build-vs-buy strategies for IT operations and cloud services.
• Oversee MSP helpdesk, network, endpoints, and infrastructure services.
• Lead internal AWS DevOps team with hiring, mentoring, and performance reviews.
• Set cloud architecture direction: IaC, CI/CD, containers, observability.
• Manage AWS cost, rightsizing, savings plans, tagging governance.
• Promote automation and self-service to improve developer velocity.
• Coordinate audits, certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and DR/BC planning.
