Job summary

Tyler Technologies is seeking a Cloud Observability Architect to lead the transformation of our observability strategy, focusing on application-first monitoring, customer experience, and service reliability. You will drive enterprise standards, tooling modernization, and adoption of telemetry across cloud and SaaS platforms.

The role partners with engineering, product, and operations to deliver end-to-end visibility, SLIs/SLOs, and telemetry governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting observability solutions in complex cloud/hybrid environments.
  • Strong experience leading technical transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transformation of Tyler's observability strategy with an application-first approach.
  • Define and evolve enterprise observability architecture and telemetry patterns.
  • Develop and maintain an observability platform strategy consolidating tooling and standards.
  • Serve as the primary observability SME to engineering, product, and leadership.
  • Evaluate and guide implementation of observability technologies and best practices.
  • Drive transition to modern observability practices using APM, tracing, logging, metrics.
  • Establish governance and standards for telemetry collection and incident detection.
  • Partner with FinOps to optimize observability spend and cloud costs.
  • Build communities of practice to promote adoption and continuous improvement.
