Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to head software engineering for trading platform applications, guiding modernization and scalable cloud-native solutions.

You will collaborate with Architecture, Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams, drive DevOps and SDLC governance, and ensure high availability, resilience, and top-tier performance across distributed systems used in capital markets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing software engineering teams and delivery.
• 3+ years designing or supporting cloud-based solutions using AWS.
• 5+ years in distributed systems, messaging platforms, or related tech.
• Experience with C#, Java, or Python.
• 7+ years supporting high-availability, scalable platforms.
• Experience in financial services or trading technology.
• Strong cloud architecture and modernization strategy capability.
• Strategic problem solving and analytical decision-making.
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• DevOps, SDLC, and software delivery governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams delivering trading platform applications and services.
• Define and execute cloud modernization strategies using AWS and enterprise platforms.
• Partner with Architecture, PM, Data, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
• Drive design, development, and deployment of scalable cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and delivery processes.
• Support cloud services covering compute, storage, containers, databases, integrations, and APIs.
• Promote self-service platform capabilities and productivity improvements.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and mentorship.
• Ensure platform performance, resiliency, and disaster recovery with SLAs.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor delivery, quality, reliability, and operational metrics.
• Partner with leaders to deliver scalable, high-performing trading tech solutions.
