Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and deliver scalable backend services and cloud-native applications. You will lead end-to-end ownership of applications, participate in architecture discussions, and ensure robust testing, observability, and continuous delivery across data-intensive systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• Proficiency with object-oriented languages (C#/.NET, Java)
• Hands-on experience designing cloud-native solutions in AWS or similar
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive apps
• Proficiency with SQL
• Experience contributing to technical design and architecture
• Commitment to automated testing, code reviews, observability, and continuous delivery
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver scalable software solutions across applications, services, databases, and infrastructure
• Develop backend services and cloud-native apps using modern languages, microservices, and AWS or similar cloud tech
• Own end-to-end ownership of applications and services (development, support, troubleshooting, improvement)
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, identify risks
• Make engineering decisions with feedback and outcomes in mind
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions
• Apply automated testing, code reviews, observability, CI/CD, and iterative delivery
• Identify and reduce technical debt while improving data flows and engineering processes
• Ensure analytics and risk data reliability across portfolio management and analytics platforms
