Job summary

U.S. Bank is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Hopkins, MN to design, build, test, and operate cloud-native applications.

You will own the full-stack lifecycle across backend services, APIs, and data integrations, with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security. The role requires deep experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices on Kubernetes, plus hands-on work with relational and NoSQL databases and API security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive software development experience.
• Expertise with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Rancher and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Cassandra.
• Knowledge of security (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and API gateways (Apigee).
• Familiarity with SRE practices, observability, and CI/CD.
• Able to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade cloud-native apps.
• Own full-stack lifecycle across backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Develop and manage microservices on Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Implement secure APIs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering standards.
• Leverage CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms for releases.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment with stakeholders.
