Job summary

U.S. Bank is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Hopkins, MN to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade, cloud-native Java applications. You will own full-stack delivery for backend services, APIs, and integrations, with emphasis on scalability, security, and observability.

Role requires strong experience with Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes/Rancher, and databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Cassandra). Familiarity with OAuth/JWT and API gateways like Apigee is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Science & Engineering and 5 years of software development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, operating, and maintaining enterprise-grade Java/J2EE applications.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architectures.
• Experience deploying microservices on Kubernetes or Rancher.
• Proficiency with relational (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra) databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain cloud-native applications.
• Own full-stack lifecycle for backend services, APIs, and integrations with a focus on quality and scalability.
• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs with versioning and backward compatibility.
• Develop microservices deployed on Kubernetes-based platforms including service discovery and config management.
• Implement security best practices (OAuth 2.0, JWT, secure gateways) and observability through SRE practices.
• Lead code reviews and participate in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/CloudBees) to enable reliable releases.
