Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an accomplished engineering leader to guide cloud-native software initiatives, drive platform modernization, and build high-performing teams.

You will architect scalable, secure systems, mentor engineers, and partner across Product, Security, and Platform groups to deliver strategic technology roadmaps. Responsibilities include hands-on design reviews, production operations, and accelerating delivery velocity with automated testing and IaC practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering leadership and people management experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS, Cloud-Native Development, Platform Engineering, and large-scale Distributed Systems.
• Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes and containerized applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and Automated Testing practices.
• Experience with Observability, Monitoring, SRE, Performance Optimization, and operational support.
• Proven success leading Technology Modernization, Cloud Transformation, Automation, and Engineering Productivity initiatives, including adoption of AI-powered development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native, scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.
• Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams, fostering ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Drive adoption of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps best practices.
• Partner with Product, Business, Architecture, Security, and Platform Engineering teams to define and execute technology roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution design, code reviews, and complex problem resolution.
• Lead production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.
• Champion cloud modernization, platform transformation, automation, and technical debt reduction programs.
• Drive quarterly planning, delivery execution, risk management, and accountability for business outcomes.
