Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineering Manager 3 to lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native, scalable software solutions.

You will build and coach high-performing teams, fostering ownership, innovation, and collaboration with Product, Architecture, Security, and Platform Engineering. You will drive adoption of microservices, event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps to accelerate delivery while ensuring security and reliability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering leadership and people management experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS and cloud-native development for large-scale systems.
• Strong experience with REST/GraphQL, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, containerized apps in production, and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, and SRE practices.
• Proven track record of technology modernization and platform transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native software solutions.
• Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams with a culture of ownership.
• Drive adoption of microservices, event-driven design, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, and Platform Engineering to set roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on leadership through reviews, design, code critiques, and problem resolution.
• Lead production support, incident management, RCA, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Champion modernization, automation, and debt reduction to improve scalability and velocity.
