Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced engineering leader to architect and drive cloud-native solutions across a scalable, secure platform. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver resilient software, while championing modernization, automation, and DevSecOps practices.

Significant experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern DevOps is required. You will collaborate with Product, Security, and Platform teams to align technology roadmaps with business goals, while ensuring

Qualifications

Five or more years of leading a software engineering team.
Deep expertise in AWS, Cloud-Native Development, Platform Engineering, and large-scale Distributed Systems.
Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.
Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes and containerized applications in production environments.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), DevSecOps, and Automated Testing practices.
Experience with Observability, Monitoring, SRE, Performance Optimization, and operational support.
Proven success leading Technology Modernization, Cloud Transformation, Automation, and Engineering Productivity initiatives, including AI-powered development tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native, scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.
Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Drive adoption of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and DevSecOps best practices.
Partner with Product, Business, Architecture, Security, and Platform Engineering teams to define and execute strategic technology roadmaps.
Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution design, code reviews, and complex problem resolution.
Lead production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence and reliability.
Champion cloud modernization, platform transformation, automation, and technical debt reduction to improve scalability and delivery velocity.
Drive quarterly planning, delivery execution, risk management, and accountability for business outcomes, quality metrics, and platform sustainability.
