Job summary

Oracle's OCI Identity team seeks a software development senior manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for architecture and development of major Identity components in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

You will guide low-level OS development, architect broad system interactions, and remain hands-on when needed, driving product strategy and delivering scalable, secure cloud identity capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leading teams or major initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead delivery of backend services, platform capabilities, infra, tooling, and enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strong system design and architecture skills including distributed systems and API design.
• Experience with cloud-native development; OCI preferred; AWS/Azure/GCP also relevant.
• Strong understanding of IAM, secure service-to-service communication, and secure software practices.
• Experience building/deploying developer tooling, observability solutions, or deployment automation.
• Collaborative, agile environment with cross-functional teamwork.
• Proficiency in Java and Python; Go/C# a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a software engineering team responsible for design, development, debugging, testing, and delivery of software applications, operating systems, databases, tools, and platform components.
• Apply knowledge of software architecture to guide development and ensure alignment with design standards.
• Oversee enhancements to existing architectures to improve scalability, maintainability, reliability, and design.
• Manage activities across multiple functional areas, ensuring effective planning and execution.
• Develop short-, medium-, and long-term plans that support organizational and strategic objectives.
• Engage with senior management to align priorities and ensure objectives are met.
• Provide technical and organizational leadership to resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Recruit, coach, and develop engineers while fostering accountability and excellence.
