Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff within OCI's Technical Strategy & Oversight to help build Lightweight Infrastructure for compute, storage, networking, identity, observability, and governance.

The role emphasizes designing scalable, resilient software in large codebases, with a focus on security, automation, and operational excellence. Excellent collaboration and ownership are required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years of software engineering experience building reliable services or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in at least one systems or backend language such as Java, Go, Rust, C/C++, or Python; Rust a strong plus.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, concurrency, and distributed systems fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize components in distributed systems with emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and operability.
• Build fault-tolerant paths (redundancy, replication, automatic failover), retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
• Proactively detect and mitigate issues via tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry; draft runbooks and participate in incident response.
• Develop automation/IaC for troubleshooting and maintenance; implement security controls while ensuring compliance and docs.
• Collaborate across teams to align on expectations and drive effective partnerships.
