Job summary

Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled cloud infrastructure engineer to build, deploy, and optimize scalable systems in cloud and on-prem environments. Hybrid-eligible role requiring expertise in Terraform, AWS, OCI, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will design infrastructure, automate deployments, and collaborate across teams to ensure secure, high-performance, cost-efficient solutions. Strong scripting and security knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrate Cloud Infrastructure experience including but not limited to AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI.
• Extensive Experience with AWS server deployment using AWS CLI, HashiCorp Terraform.
• Experience in orchestrating environment deployment from OS to application layers using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Puppet.
• Experience with Servers, Infrastructure, Platform Sizing, Infrastructure Cost Reduction.
• Experience with automated deployment/ Continuous Integration/ Release.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Technologies focused on AWS and OCI.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of infrastructure APIs on cloud platforms such as EC2/VM/Bare Metal/Containers, Storage/EBS/Volumes, Network/VPC/Subnet, Network Interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services in native or hybrid cloud environments with performance, cost, and security optimization.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and IaC templates to provision and manage Oracle OCI and AWS resources using Terraform.
• Engineer processes across servers, applications, and databases to handle spikes in traffic and usage.
• Design infrastructure resource topology and backup/recovery strategies and monitor overall health.
• Develop and maintain connectivity between campus infrastructure to ensure data availability.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to optimize cloud-based solutions for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure monitoring coverage and proactive health management of applications and systems.
• Implement Best Practices for IaaS, PaaS services lifecycle.
