Job summary

BigBear.ai is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to safeguard the information systems behind our generative AI platform, with a focus on Azure Government enclaves and Kubernetes clusters.

You’ll deploy and maintain operating systems and tooling, contribute automation scripts, support 24/7 availability, and participate in on-call rotations while advancing FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Two years of cloud infra or IT ops experience with hands-on Azure.
• Knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
• Scripting ability in at least one language.
• Bachelor’s degree or 4 additional years of related work experience.
• Security+ or equivalent IAT II, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows administration, IaC and CI/CD tooling, networking, IAM, monitoring.
• Willingness to pass a thorough background check and obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor installed systems and infrastructure — including Azure Government enclaves and Kubernetes clusters.
• Assist in deploying, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Support system availability targets and participate in on-call rotation.
• Execute and help maintain backup, redundancy, and recovery procedures.
• Write and maintain scripts and automation to reduce manual effort and improve visibility.
• Provide 2nd level support for infrastructure issues and escalate complex incidents.
• Apply patches and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities, documenting actions taken.
• Support FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 compliance activities and evidence collection.
• Assist with routine security reviews and audits; track remediation items to closure.
• Contribute to infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
