Job summary

Thales Group in Austin, TX is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role. You will lead cross-functional teams to design, implement, deploy, and maintain cloud-based identity and data-protection software.

The role requires technical leadership across the full SDLC and strong emphasis on security, performance, and scalable architectures. You will evaluate emerging technologies, drive best practices, and collaborate with design authorities to translate regulatory

Qualifications

• BS/BA in CS, software engineering or related field.
• 8–12 years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Expert in OO and SOA design; Java/Angular/React experience.
• Advanced scripting: PowerShell, Bash; cloud deployments on AWS/Azure.
• Experience leading deployment, integration, and config of complex solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams for cloud-based identity software.
• Lead full SDLC at a systems level, guiding requirements, design, and maintainability.
• Deploy and validate core products in cloud environments per guidelines.
• Define engineering standards for secure, scalable software across projects.
• Drive root-cause analysis for performance, scalability, reliability issues.
• Evaluate emerging tech and adoption to enhance security and efficiency.
• Translate business/regulatory needs into architectures and implementation strategies.
• Lead code reviews to ensure quality and long-term health.
• Create architecture docs and reference designs for transfer of knowledge.
• Collaborate with leadership to guide technical direction hands-on.
