Job summary

Thales is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer in Austin to design, build, and operate internal platforms enabling faster, more secure software delivery. You’ll shape CI/CD, cloud foundations, and developer tooling across AWS, GCP, and Azure, while collaborating with SRE, Security, and Product teams.

You’ll own platform reliability, automation, and observability, and help establish scalable patterns for enterprise-grade deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/Engineering.
• 8–12+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related.
• Proven experience building internal platforms and automation in production.
• Experience in multi-cloud or enterprise-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal platform capabilities to reduce cognitive load and boost developer productivity.
• Create self-service workflows, templates, and reusable components for platform services.
• Develop automation for cloud foundations, CI/CD, secrets management, and container platforms.
• Support production-grade Kubernetes and multi-cloud landing zones across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Partner with product teams to deliver practical platform solutions and improve developer experience.
• Build observability into services and participate in incident response and improvements.
