Job summary

Axon is seeking a Technical Program Manager in Seattle to lead cost-conscious software delivery across engineering, product, and finance. You will manage multi-team projects, optimize cloud spend, and guide architectural decisions with AWS/Azure expertise.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, risk management, and collaboration to balance velocity with cost efficiency. You will partner with VPs of engineering and finance, oversee dependencies, and mentor teams while promoting Axon's mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Eng, Data Science, or related field.
• 7+ years leading and managing system/software delivery, with at least 2 specifically in a technical program management role.
• Strong project management skills: Agile SDLC, risk management, dependencies, milestones, and status communications.
• Evidence of owning and driving large, ambiguous software programs.
• Ability to learn quickly and reduce ambiguity by partnering with others.
• Aligned with Axon values and mission to protect life.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution across product management, engineering, and design to build data-driven project plans and schedules.
• Drive process improvements to increase velocity and effectiveness.
• Own dependencies and simplify challenges to guide teams toward the right outcome.
• Track major risks/issues/roadmaps with clear communications.
• Provide timely status updates to senior leaders and support other teams.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers, earning trust and accountability.
• Help teams capture and improve architectural process and documentation.
• Leverage public cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure) to inform design choices.
• Apply containerized environments and Terraform knowledge in delivery.
• Utilize automation languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline operations.
