Job summary

Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Platform Engineer to lead cost management across our cloud platforms and embed FinOps into automation patterns. You will drive cost visibility, allocation, and optimization at scale, partner with engineering and finance, and elevate platform-level cost governance.

You will work at the platform layer, embedding cost controls into IaC, CI/CD, and automation workflows while mentoring teams on cloud economics and cost-efficient design principles.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Solid understanding of cloud cost drivers, billing models, usage patterns, and optimization strategies.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Experience evaluating and implementing cloud commitment models (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, or equivalents).
• Experience working with cost optimization vendors or managed FinOps platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build cost-aware platform foundations across cloud environments.
• Expand cost visibility, tooling, dashboards, budgets, and reporting pipelines.
• Embed FinOps into IaC and CI/CD workflows with automated cost controls.
• Mentor engineers and enable cost-aware design and decision-making.
• Drive recurring cost optimization initiatives and governance patterns across teams.
• Collaborate with Finance and platform leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and usage trends.
