Job summary

Q2 is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to build and lead cloud financial management from the ground up. You will translate AWS and Azure data into actionable business value, bridging Finance, Engineering, and Procurement to drive cost efficiency.

You will define strategy, tooling, and governance, establishing cost accountability across engineering teams and presenting insights to senior leadership. This is a founding, high-impact role requiring strategic thinking and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in FP&A, FinOps, or infrastructure cost analysis.
• Proven track record in establishing and maturing a FinOps practice with governance and cost allocation.
• Deep knowledge of public-cloud pricing and billing models (AWS, Azure).
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product Management.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS or multi-tenant environments with cost efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop forecasting models and financial reporting for cloud spend.
• Design and manage commitment strategies like Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
• Lead cross-functional optimization initiatives with engineering teams.
• Establish tagging standards and cost allocation frameworks.
• Develop executive dashboards and reporting on cloud cost trends and risks.
• Support vendor negotiations and long-term infrastructure planning.
