Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Finance Business Partner embedded with Infrastructure Engineering to drive the financial strategy for cloud compute. You will lead complex economic analyses, provide cost optimization guidance, and ensure funding aligns with strategic AI initiatives. This role requires Mandarin fluency and cross-border collaboration.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-range plans while partnering with engineering and tax teams to optimize spend and value realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of Finance/Accounting experience in Cloud, Infrastructure, or Data Center environments.
• Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and familiarity with FinOps.
• Ability to translate technical metrics (e.g., GPU latency, Kubernetes) into clear financial narratives.
• Mandarin fluency required for collaboration with China-based stakeholders.
• CPA/ACCA or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL or Python for analyzing large-scale billing datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex TCO models to evaluate multi-year cloud commitments across providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Drive data-led negotiations with hyperscalers and OEMs to optimize pricing and volume discounts.
• Implement tagging and metadata strategies for 100% cost transparency across AI workloads.
• Establish and track unit economics like Cost per 1k Tokens and Cost per MAU.
• Partner with DevOps to maximize commitment coverage (RI/SP) and Spot utilization.
• Own the global cloud budgeting, including monthly variance analysis and spend narratives.
• Translate engineering roadmaps into long-range financial plans aligned with margin targets.
• Ensure IFRS compliance for cloud contracts and R&D capitalization policies.
• Collaborate on cross-border tax strategies including WHT and transfer pricing.
