Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Finance Business Partner embedded within Infrastructure Engineering and Strategic Sourcing to own the financial architecture of our global compute strategy. You will drive multi-year cloud cost models, evaluate on-prem vs public cloud, and steer FinOps initiatives to maximize business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years Finance/Accounting with at least 3 years in Cloud, Infrastructure, or Data Center environments.
• Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud-native tools.
• Capable of translating Kubernetes clusters and GPU latency into EBITDA impact and ROI.
• Proven resilience in high-growth, fast-paced environments with a collaborative and inclusive working style.
• High levels of written and oral fluency in Mandarin are required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Build TCO models to evaluate multi-year cloud commitments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Lead financial feasibility studies comparing On-prem/Colocation vs Public Cloud.
• Provide data-driven leverage for procurement during negotiations with hyperscalers and GPU OEMs.
• Drive cost attribution with tagging/metadata for 100% cost transparency.
• Define and track Unit Cost metrics (e.g., Cost per 1k Tokens, Cost per MAU).
• Partner with DevOps to optimize Commitment Coverage and increase Spot usage.
• Own the cloud budget for global regions and perform monthly variance analysis.
• Translate engineering roadmaps into long-range financial plans to align with margins.
• Ensure IFRS capitalization of R&D costs and cross-border tax considerations.
