Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Finance Business Partner embedded with Infrastructure Engineering in San Jose. You will shape the financial framework for cloud compute, drive multi-year cloud commitments, and own budgeting to align with corporate margins.

You will lead TCO modeling, support vendor negotiations, and ensure IFRS capitalization of R&D costs, while collaborating with global teams to maximize value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years Finance/Accounting with at least 3 years in Cloud, Infrastructure, or Data Center environments.
• Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud-native tools.
• Capable of translating Kubernetes clusters and GPU latency into EBITDA impact and ROI.
• Fluent Mandarin required for collaboration with China-based stakeholders.
• CPA/ACCA or equivalent designation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build complex TCO models to evaluate multi-year cloud commitments.
• Lead financial feasibility studies comparing On-prem/Colocation vs Public Cloud.
• Provide data-driven leverage for procurement during negotiations with hyperscalers and GPU OEMs.
• Drive cost attribution with robust tagging and metadata for cost transparency.
• Define and track Unit Cost metrics (e.g., Cost per 1k Tokens, Cost per MAU).
• Partner with DevOps to optimize Commitment Coverage and Spot Instance usage.
• Own cloud budgeting and monthly variance analysis (BvA) and narrative behind spend.
• Translate engineering roadmaps into long-range financial plans (LRP).
• Ensure IFRS capitalization of R&D costs and cross-border tax considerations.
