Job summary

Leidos seeks a Cloud Engineer Lead to join our San Antonio, TX office, driving the design, deployment, and optimization of multi-cloud environments to support the Integrated Defensive Cyber System mission.

The role leads a cloud engineering team, manages budgets and procurement, and guides architecture decisions for scalable, automated cloud solutions with strong SLAs. Onsite work near Lackland AFB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 12+ years in software development, system engineering or related field or master’s with 10+ years.
• 7+ years technical application architecture experience including architecting, designing, and programming applications to operate in a commercial cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).
• Experience with IaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud hosting architecture/design patterns to meet scalability, capacity, availability, performance, storage, cost, and application requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage cloud engineering team to ensure efficient operation of multiple cloud environments.
• Oversee budgeting and procurement of cloud space and resources.
• Assign tasks, manage workloads, and provide performance leadership.
• Design cloud solutions and integrate tools/services for compute, storage, and networking.
• Ensure designs meet target cloud environments and requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into cloud patterns and options.
• Maintain relationships with partners and vendors to leverage best ideas and solutions.
• Automate and improve existing systems; review system capabilities, workflows, and schedules.
• Conduct cost estimation, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
