Job summary

Leidos’ Defense Sector in Omaha, NE is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures in Azure across IaaS and PaaS. You will automate with IaC, support 24x7 monitoring, and participate in DevSecOps to ensure secure, scalable solutions for Air Force programs.

The role requires on-site work in Omaha, with consideration for candidates near Lorton, VA or Oklahoma City. Candidates must hold active TS clearance and DoD 8140 certs, with Azure certifications;

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years.
• DoD 8140 Intermediate certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• AZ-104 or equivalent Azure certifications.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack).
• Proficient in AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Familiar with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong networking knowledge (VPCs, subnets, VPNs, firewalls).
• DevSecOps practices and IAM/encryption knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructures in Azure (IaaS & PaaS).
• Automate deployments with IaC and Configuration-as-Code tools.
• Provision and scale Azure resources with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor resource utilization for cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure security and compliance within DevSecOps.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automation.
• Implement containers with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure monitoring tools to ensure availability.
• Identify optimizations to improve uptime and latency.
• Assist audits (RMF, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Provide Tier-2/3 support and collaborate with vendors.
• Document procedures and troubleshooting steps.
