Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Engineer for Space Programs to design, automate, and operate mission-critical cloud infrastructure supporting the EMMETT SDA/ I&W system. You will enable secure, scalable delivery to Agile teams across classified environments using cloud platforms, IaC, container orchestration, and CI/CD tooling.

The role requires hands-on automation experience, DevSecOps discipline, and the ability to improve reliability, speed, and security of releases in a TS/SCI environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• TS clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to pass a polygraph within 30 days; contract requires TS/SCI with poly.
• 4+ years of cloud engineering, build/release automation, or orchestration.
• Current IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools (Ansible, Git/GitLab, Jenkins).
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher.
• Experience developing or supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and automate cloud infrastructure and containerized services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), enabling high availability.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration for large-scale deployments using IaC and automated configuration.
• Harden and secure systems using DevSecOps practices; manage PKI/certificates and identity integration; ensure STIG-aligned patching and compliance.
• Monitor and optimize reliability and observability across networking, OS, containers, and cloud services in classified environments.
• Develop and maintain engineering artifacts and configuration management to ensure repeatable, well-documented operations aligned to IMS.
