Job summary

Peraton is seeking a SR Cloud Engineer for Space Programs to design, automate, and operate mission-critical cloud infrastructure supporting the EMMETT SDA I&W system. The role involves leveraging cloud platforms, IaC, containers, and CI/CD to enable secure, scalable delivery to Agile teams in classified environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on automation experience, DevSecOps discipline, and strong problem-solving skills to improve reliability, speed, and security of releases.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Must hold TS/SCI clearance with poly; poly required within 30 days.
• 4+ years in cloud engineering, build/release automation, or orchestration.
• Current IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC).
• Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, IaC, and automation tools like Ansible, Git/GitLab, Jenkins.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher.
• Experience developing or supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and automate cloud infrastructure and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) for high availability.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration for large-scale deployments.
• Harden and secure systems using DevSecOps practices, manage PKI/certificates and identity integration.
• Monitor reliability and observability across networks, OS, containers, and cloud services.
• Develop and maintain engineering artifacts and configuration management aligned to the IMS.
