Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and support OpenShift-based container platforms across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with Kubernetes, automation, and IaC to build secure, scalable environments.

Responsibilities include deploying OpenShift, managing Kubernetes workloads, and integrating CI/CD pipelines while ensuring security and governance best practices across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field with required experience: Bachelor's with 2+ years or Master's with 1+ year.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and administer Red Hat OpenShift clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage, monitor, and optimize Kubernetes workloads for high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift Operators for deployment and lifecycle management.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating containerized apps into automated deployment workflows.
• Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and application performance using monitoring/logging tools.
• Troubleshoot platform, networking, storage, and application issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Implement security, compliance, and governance best practices for OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and platform management using IaC tools.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable container platform solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and platform standards.
