Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) seeks a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and support enterprise-grade OpenShift platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The role emphasizes Kubernetes, containerization, automation, and infrastructure as code to build secure, scalable, highly available container environments.

Collaboration with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and administer Red Hat OpenShift clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain OpenShift Operators for deployment and lifecycle management.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating containerized apps into automated deployment workflows.
• Monitor cluster health and performance using appropriate monitoring/logging tools.
• Troubleshoot platform, networking, storage, and application issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement security, compliance, and governance best practices for OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and platform management using Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable container platform solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation and platform standards.
