Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is hiring a Cloud Engineer I to help deploy, integrate, and maintain VMware vSphere 8, vSAN, Microsoft Azure Cloud, and Office 365. You will perform systems administration tasks and support customer environments with Azure integrations, pre-deployment planning, and knowledge transfer.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years in systems engineering, relevant certifications, and the ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen; able to obtain/hold security clearance (Interim Secret or Secret).
• DOD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., CySA+, SSCP, Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GSEC).
• VMware Certified Professional or equivalent; MS Azure Fundamentals or higher certification.
• Experience administering/engineering vSphere, MS Azure or Office 365 environments.
• 3+ years in systems engineering; building or deploying cloud apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, integrate, operate, and maintain VMware vSphere 8, vSAN, Azure, and Office 365 environments.
• Perform admin tasks for VMware, Azure, and Office 365 services; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Support Azure engineering for operations and foundational teams; assist with Azure integrations for customers.
• Lead pre-deployment planning and knowledge transfer; address technical escalations.
• Aim for end-to-end implementation of target workloads and ongoing cloud governance.
