Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks a Cloud Engineer I to support deployment, integration, and operations of VMware vSphere 8, vSAN, Microsoft Azure Cloud, and Office 365. You will manage administration tasks, troubleshoot issues, and drive Azure integration with customer environments.

The role requires 3+ years in systems engineering, active clearance, and Azure/Office 365 expertise. Expect occasional after-hours support and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen per position requirements.
• DOD Interim Secret or Secret Clearance required.
• DOD 8570 IAT II or higher certification required.
• VMware certification or equivalent MS Azure Fundamentals or higher.
• Experience administering or engineering vSphere, Azure or Office 365 environments.
• 3+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience building or deploying cloud applications desired.
• Familiar with Azure AD, cloud networking and server deployment.
• Knowledge of Office 365 tools: AAD, ADFS, Exchange Online, EOP, Teams, Intune.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deployment, integration, operations and maintenance of VMware vSphere 8, vSAN, Azure Cloud and Office 365 environment.
• Perform systems administration/engineering tasks for VMware, Azure and Office 365 services.
• Troubleshoot issues and assist with Azure cloud platform integration into customer environments.
• Provide Azure engineering support to operations and foundational teams.
• Conduct root cause analysis to guide future issue prevention.
• Maintain an end-to-end deployment of targeted workloads and ensure governance and security controls.
