Job summary

PURE Insurance in the United States seeks a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Architecture team to design, build, automate, and support cloud-native solutions within our AWS environment. You will collaborate with multiple teams to translate cloud architectures into secure, scalable deployments and contribute to observability and automation.

The role emphasizes infrastructure as code, serverless and containerized workloads, APIs and integrations, and cross-team cooperation.

Qualifications

• H hands-on AWS engineering experience in production.
• Experience with Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway and other cloud-native services.
• Strong IaC experience, esp. Terraform, plus AWS SAM/CloudFormation.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Programming or scripting in Python, Node.js, and/or Java.
• Experience developing, integrating, or supporting REST APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Understanding IAM, OAuth 2.0, secrets management, and secure authentication.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Knowledge of cloud observability: logging, metrics, tracing, troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud-native AWS solutions (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, AWS SAM, CloudFormation.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions.
• Design and support APIs, middleware, and serverless apps with application teams.
• Develop automation and reusable tooling using Python/Node.js/Java.
• Support Java/Spring Boot workloads in AWS.
• Implement IAM, OAuth 2.0, secrets management and secure app authentication.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases; ensure observability with CloudWatch/OpenTelemetry.
• Create reusable IaC modules and standardized deployment patterns.
