Job summary

Beacon Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineer to execute lifecycle maintenance, upgrades, configuration changes, and operational tasks across AWS cloud platform technologies for our client partner.

You will update EKS and platform stacks, rebuild AMI creation processes, and drive lifecycle improvements across Kubernetes, Istio, Gloo Gateway, and IaC tooling. Strong collaboration with engineering teams and adherence to change management are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering AWS services in production environments.
• Kubernetes and Amazon EKS experience required.
• Linux-based systems proficiency.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues.
• Understanding of CI/CD deployment practices.
• Ability to follow established procedures, change controls, and standards.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute Amazon EKS cluster lifecycle activities including upgrades and maintenance.
• Identify dependencies and sequence maintenance work.
• Perform node group updates and AMI refreshes.
• Assist with deployment, validation, and testing of platform upgrades.
• Implement platform modernization changes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and escalate complex problems.
