Job summary

KBX Logistics, a Koch company, seeks an entry-level Cloud Engineer to operate, maintain, and improve our AWS-based platform supporting application teams. You will implement changes, support services, and help keep the cloud environment secure and reliable.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, manage IAM and networking, and contribute to automation using Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions. A foundational knowledge of Kubernetes and service meshes is essential.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome; relevant AWS/cloud infra experience encouraged.
• Experience with compute, networking, storage, IAM and monitoring concepts in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Build and support AWS infrastructure using established designs, security controls, and change-management practices.
• Work with senior engineers to clarify requirements and decisions.
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud platform technologies including Amazon EKS, Istio, Gloo, Kong, MSK/Kafka, and Redis/ElastiCache.
• Use Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions to provision infrastructure and deploy platform changes.
• Manage IAM, access, networking, encryption, and secrets requests per standards; identify automation opportunities and address risks.
• Monitor platform health, respond to alerts/incidents, troubleshoot with application teams, escalate complex problems.
• Apply tagging standards, support cost reporting, investigate waste, and implement cost-saving changes.
• Investigate issues using documentation and operational data; verify work before closing.
• Maintain implementation notes, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides; share lessons with the team.
• Build AWS/cloud platform skills through hands-on work, training, and certifications.
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, communicate impact, prevent repeats.
