Populous in Portland seeks a Cloud Engineer to design, implement and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. You will work with our Global IT team to support cloud migration, security, and multi-cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Hands-on cloud networking concepts (VPC, VNets, subnets, routing).
• Experience configuring/managing firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, AWS SGs, NACLs, Azure NSGs).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience designing secure network connectivity (VPNs, private endpoints, hybrid networking).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments.
• Architect secure network solutions (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, connectivity).
• Configure and manage firewalls and security controls.
• Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK, TypeScript).
• Monitor performance, availability, and security using cloud native and third-party tools.
• Support cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Design and maintain secure connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute).
• Maintain infrastructure supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions runners, deployments).
• Support vulnerability response and remediation timelines.
• Troubleshoot cloud, network, and firewall issues.
• Support deployment infrastructure for web apps and on-premises software distribution.
