Job summary

Security Benefit is seeking a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to design, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure with minimal oversight. This role is based in the Kansas City area with a hybrid on-site/remote schedule.

You will own end-to-end workstreams, automate provisioning with Terraform and scripting, and collaborate across Infrastructure, Security, Identity, and Architecture teams in an Agile environment, ensuring security and compliance guidelines are met.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with a scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infra deployment and change management.
• Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills for short- and long-term fixes.
• Good written communication for post-incident reports.
• Experience in the financial industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure and services on AWS with limited oversight.
• Own end-to-end workstreams or features from design through deployment and support.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and scripting.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across cloud and infrastructure services.
• Participate in incident triage and follow escalation runbooks; on-call as needed.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Identity, and Architecture teams in an Agile environment.
• Apply security, compliance, and change-management controls in a regulated environment.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure changes through Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs and post-incident notes.
• Utilize Jira for ticket management and project tracking.
