Job summary

MANTECH seeks a Junior Cloud Engineer in Springfield, VA to support Azure environments and cloud infrastructure. You will participate in systems engineering and administration tasks within an Agile team, ensuring security, performance, and reliability for client cloud solutions.

The role requires a proactive problem-solver with DoD 8140 readiness, capable of delivering high-quality cloud services and collaborating across ITSM, Sentris, and integrated platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with at least one year of relevant technical experience (or 2 years substitution for degree).
• Knowledge of system engineering lifecycle phases, Sentris, and Microsoft Azure essential.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infra, cloud, and app-level errors under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support Microsoft Azure customers by executing project tasks and reporting progress.
• Collaborate to deliver systems engineering and administration services for Azure, ITSM, Sentris, and integrated solutions.
• Assist with technical design and implementation using Agile methodologies (Scrum).
• Plan, schedule, and update program activities using MS Project and Azure DevOps.
• Identify high-risk areas and present mitigation recommendations to management.
• Build relationships with client personnel to ensure satisfaction and project success.
• Coordinate root-cause analysis for complex Azure issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated, career-oriented Junior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Springfield, VA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud solutions, primarily focusing on Microsoft Azure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting cloud infrastructure, participating in system engineering and administration tasks, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality cloud services. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within an Agile team setting. As a Junior Cloud Engineer at MANTECH, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients' cloud transformation initiatives and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of their cloud environments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least one year of relevant technical experience; however, an additional two years of experience may substitute for a degree. Demonstrated knowledge of system engineering lifecycle phases, Sentris, and Microsoft Azure is essential. Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure, cloud, and application-level technical errors under tight deadlines is required. The candidate must also comply with DoD 8140.03 Cybersecurity Workforce Management Program and obtain, or already possess, an approved baseline credential matching the DoD 8140 Work Role System Administrator (451) within six months of hire. Strong analytical skills to interpret KPI and SLA data and provide actionable insights are also necessary.

• Assist with technical design and implementation using Agile methodologies, including Scrum practices. Plan, schedule, and update program activities utilizing tools such as MS Project and Azure DevOps.
• Identify high-risk areas within projects and present well-informed recommendations to management for mitigation strategies.
• Build and maintain influential relationships with key client personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
• Coordinate root-cause analysis for complex technical errors within Azure and integrated environments, providing timely resolutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cloud infrastructure reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
