Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated Cloud Engineer to join our Fort Meade, MD team. You will develop, maintain, and enhance complex cloud systems based on documented requirements.

Responsibilities include implementing cloud software development strategies, designing Kubernetes-based infrastructure, and automating tasks. You will work with Python, CI/CD, and container tech in a TS/ SCI environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4 additional years of related experience.
• 6+ years of software development or cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes/Helm.
• Ability to obtain AWS or Kubernetes certifications within 6 months of hire.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cloud Engineer to join our team in Fort Meade, MD.

In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex cloud systems based upon documented requirements.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Provides cloud software development/engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• Work on a software development program proving software development engineering strategies for environments using AWS SDK's, Kubernetes Client Libraries, and other related cloud technologies.
• Design and develop infrastructure solutions using Kubernetes.
• Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
• Perform validation and verification testing.
• Document development phases and monitor systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline; An additional 4 years of related experience might be substituted for a degree.
• 6+ years of experience in software development or cloud engineering in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies (i.e. Docker) and/or orchestration tools (i.e. Kubernetes, Helm).
• One or more of the following is required or must be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire date (CE = Cloud Engineer):
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (CE Level 1 or 2)
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (CE Level 1 or 2)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (CE Level 3)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional (CE Level 3)
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CE Level 3)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CE Level 3)

Clearance Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
