MANTECH is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, support, and maintain advanced network infrastructures in the Ft. Meade, MD area. You will ensure secure, high-performance networks across platforms with emphasis on SDN, VXLAN, and automation.

The ideal candidate has 14+ years in network engineering, a technical degree or equivalent experience, and familiarity with PKI/IPSEC/VPN security. Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE are a plus, with opportunities for growth in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 14 years of network engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience implementing multi-platform, multi-system networks and diagnosing performance issues.
• Knowledge of SDN, VXLAN, and automation scripting is highly desirable.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or equivalent are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support multi-platform, multi-system network solutions with secure, scalable infrastructures.
• Diagnose performance issues and design improvements to maintain high network efficiency.
• Develop, operate, and manage secure networks in PKI/IPSEC/VPN environments.
• Implement routing protocols, QoS, traffic shaping, and policing to optimize traffic.
• Research and recommend advanced networking technologies (SDN, Cisco ACI, NSX) and IaC.
• Provide expertise in managing public and private networks, including WANs and IP networks.
• Plan, design, install, and support LAN/WAN with security, capacity planning, and wireless.
• Utilize Ansible and Python to automate network operations.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and implement modifications for maximum uptime.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Network Engineer to join our team in the Ft. Meade, MD area. As a Network Engineer at MANTECH, you will be responsible for supporting, designing, and maintaining advanced network infrastructures that enable secure and efficient communication across various platforms. Your expertise will be integral to ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our clients' critical network systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern networking technologies, including software-defined networking, VxLAN, and automation scripting, to drive continuous improvements and innovation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 14 years of experience in network engineering, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. Alternatively, six additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Proven expertise in implementing and supporting multi-platform, multi-system networks is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to diagnose performance issues and develop effective solutions. Candidates should have a solid background in supporting complex, high-performance systems, and experience in provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures. Knowledge of peer-to-peer distributed storage networks, routing, and application messaging frameworks is highly desirable. Certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are advantageous, as is familiarity with emerging technologies like software-defined networking and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Support multi-platform, multi-system network solutions, including provisioning and sustaining network infrastructures to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Diagnose network performance shortcomings, design, and implement performance improvements to maintain high levels of network efficiency.
• Develop, operate, and manage secure networks within PKI, IPSEC, or VPN-enabled environments, ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Implement routing protocols, quality of service (QOS), traffic shaping, and policing to optimize network traffic and resource utilization.
• Research and recommend advanced networking technologies such as software-defined networking, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and infrastructure as code to enhance network capabilities.
• Provide technical expertise in managing public and private networks, including IP networks, WANs, and telecommunication systems.
• Plan, design, install, and support local and wide area networks, focusing on internet connectivity, capacity planning, routing, switching, server load balancing, network security, and wireless solutions.
• Evaluate emerging communication technologies, preparing reports and recommendations to improve network infrastructure.
• Utilize scripting skills in Ansible and Python to automate network operations and streamline processes.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement modifications to ensure maximum network availability and security.
