Job summary

Strategic Data Systems seeks a Software Engineer – Cloud & DevSecOps to support NSWCDD RDT&E in Dahlgren, VA. The role focuses on design, development, integration, deployment, and modernization of mission-critical applications within a DoD technical environment.

Responsibilities include building secure, scalable web apps, cloud deployments in Azure/AWS, DevSecOps automation, and advanced troubleshooting across software, infrastructure, and security domains.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• IAT Level 2 certification such as CompTIA Security+.
• Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and modern software development principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable web applications supporting mission-critical RDT&E operations.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions emphasizing maintainability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain application functionality using modern full-stack technologies including JavaScript.
• Support integration with enterprise data sources, analytics platforms, and reporting systems.
• Develop and execute automated testing strategies (unit, functional, integration, performance).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and automate deployment and testing processes.
