Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong Cloud and CI/CD expertise. The role accelerates value delivery by defining best practices, enabling automation, and guiding development teams on secure, scalable patterns.

You will lead cloud architecture, automation, and collaboration across engineering to ensure secure, compliant software delivery while mentoring others and driving modernization across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in applications development.
• 3+ years designing DevOps pipelines with Azure DevOps, SonarQube and YAML.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services and related components.
• In-depth IaC experience using ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Strong cloud networking and security best practices knowledge.
• Experience embedding SAST/DAST into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Self-starter with ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Designs and leads CI/CD pipeline implementations and automation.
• Provides technical oversight for DevOps architecture across projects.
• Drives modernization and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Collaborates with engineering teams to integrate security guardrails.
• Evaluates DevOps solutions and designs integrations with existing systems.
• Mentors team members and communicates complex ideas clearly.
