Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a Lead DevOps Engineer with cloud expertise to accelerate value delivery. You will steer CI/CD architecture, automation, and secure release pipelines, supporting engineering teams across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will guide design patterns, implement IaC, and mentor teams to adopt best practices in modern deployment, security, and governance, enabling faster, safer software delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applications development experience.
• 3+ years designing DevOps pipelines with Azure DevOps, SonarQube, YAML.
• Experience as a DevOps engineer with focus on Azure Cloud Services.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, Networking and Security.

Responsibilities

• Designs and leads Cloud-based architectures, networking, and containerization with IaC automation.
• Leads CI/CD design and automation, emphasizes reuse, scalability, performance, availability, and security.
• Develops release pipelines, documentation, mockups, and collateral to convey technical outcomes.
• Evaluates DevOps solutions and designs integrations with existing systems.
• Acts as a strategic consultant and mentor for DevOps architecture across teams.
• Measures benefits and business value of DevOps improvements.
• Presents complex solutions across all levels, balancing leadership with individual contribution.
• Identifies gaps and modernization opportunities across SDLC processes.
• Debugs and troubleshoots CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.
• Bridges development and operations, adding security guardrails without slowing velocity.
