Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Cyber Protection Engineer to conduct penetration testing and cloud security assessments for the DAF CLOUDworks program at Griffiss AFB. The role requires TS clearance, CIS/DoD 8140 certifications within 60 days, and strong skills in cloud security, CI/CD, and scripting.

You will evaluate AWS/Azure, secure CI/CD pipelines, and work with Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware from a security perspective while communicating findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, or security assessments in cloud/enterprise/hybrid environments.
• Experience with AWS and Azure platforms including IAM, networking, storage, logging and security services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support testing and automation.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and DoD 8140-based certifications within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and security assessments across cloud, enterprise, and hybrid environments.
• Evaluate and harden cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) across IAM, networking, storage, logging, and security services.
• Work with CI/CD pipeline technologies to secure build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Assess Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware from a security perspective.
• Use scripting/automation to support testing, analysis, and operational workflows.
• Contribute to securing and enhancing DAF CLOUDworks offerings to meet mission requirements.
