Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Director of Engineering - Cloud Compute to lead the development of foundational IaaS offerings and accelerate the growth of our carbon-reducing, AI-focused cloud platform. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver scalable compute solutions for AI workloads in a high-performance environment.

You will guide architecture decisions, drive the long-term road map, and scale the team while keeping up with the latest cloud software trends.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering management experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of compute products (CPU, GPU, ASIC accelerators).
• Knowledge of hypervisors and virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and compute requirements.
• Proven experience building scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the SDLC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term road map and strategy for Crusoe Cloud compute team.
• Guide architecture decisions, design reviews, and implementation tasks.
• Scale the team with onboarding, hiring managers, and process improvements.
• Stay current with cloud software trends to maintain market-leading offerings.
• Drive hiring to attract top talent and retain engineers.
